Steps: Every quarter below process will be followed, we will reduce DB Downtime by making DR UP till next patch.
Run DB upgrade on secondary/standby db half an hr before actual downtime
- Backup the primary database before activity [45 min before to ensure it was complete]
- Backup logins, jobs, server audit or database audits from Primary Server.
Note- once failover happens only DR comes online, we don’t access secondary server [Huawei Team Admin access & Physical server access]
2) Disable all jobs and audits on primary
3) Failover from Primary to Standby
4) Run upgrade on new standby

Select all databases
Incremental Backup- It will not taken manually, currently happens 5 min interval, we will wait till incremental backup finished after Application Stopped

And disable audits
Disalbe jobs
Meanwhile start upgrade on DR server and confirms the latest CU installed.
Once application stopped and incremental backup finished we will failover from the Primary to DR which have latest CU.
Check the latest incremental backup once app stopped-
Failover to the DR
Current primary- D7
Press Switch and confirm failover
After failover primary- 4E
Check the database, inform app team, and Check the updated CU version
